Year 4 have been completing a local area study on Horsell for History and Geography. This week Ann Harrington, who has lived in the village all her life came to speak to the children. She told them about life in Horsell as a child, how the buildings have changed and what it was like to live there during WWII. The children were fascinated by her ration books, hot water bottle and war memorabilia.
The children have also been completing a history walk through Horsell with Caroline Hughes, a member of Horsell History society. Their learning was brought to life when they saw building from the 15th and 16th century like The Cricketers, Bensteads Garage, St Mary’s Church, Esgairs, the village school and the Red Lion.
