Early Years Pupil Premium
At Sythwood Primary & Nursery School we want to make sure that all children do as well as they can in their early years, but we know that many children from lower income families need a boost in order for this to happen. For this reason, the Government is giving extra funding to childcare providers, called the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP Funding).
For every child that is eligible, we receive up to £300 a year. We use this money to enhance what we currently offer, and all our children will benefit as a result.
Your child may be eligible for EYPP if you receive any of these benefits:
- Income Support
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit, (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
We may also be able to get the extra funding if your child:
- Has been Looked after by the local authority for at least one day
- Has been adopted from care
- Has left care through special guardianship
- Is subject to a child arrangement order.
- If you think that your child could be eligible, please ask the Nursery Team for an EYPP Form.
You must provide the nursery with the funding information for your child before they start. Your child cannot start in our Nursery until your funding has been approved, and you have provided evidence of the funding.
