Sports premium spending 2017/18

Key achievements to date:

Areas for further improvement and baseline evidence of need:

  1. See annual summary sheets for statistics.

  2. Increased opportunities to engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day (Run the World, playground games, outdoor gym, sports clubs at playtime and after school, indoor athletics staff CPD, new trim trail).

  3. Achieving Sainsbury’s Silver Award.

  4. Achieving KS1 Level 1 Star Mark

  5. Organising inter and intra school competition.

  6. New team kits (cricket, football, tag rugby, athletics) to account for growing number of school sports teams.

  7. Sythwood School is a key contributor to the success of WASPS (Woking Area Sports for Primary Schools).

  8. Transport to events is no longer a barrier to participation.

  9. Employ skilled sports coaches to provide excellent sports provision.

  10. All teaching staff received termly professional development (16.17 Gymnastics and 17.18 indoor athletics)

  2. Achieve level 2 of KS1 Star Mark.

  3. Increase opportunities for sports leaders to run events.

  4. Continually upskill staff in delivering PE and sport.

  5. Improve facilities so space/weather is not a barrier to daily physical activity.

  6. Increase the number of children affiliated with local clubs.

  7. Increase the number of children achieving NC expectations in swimming by the end of KS2.
