Our History Week got off to a flying start with Saxons, Romans, Vikings, ending in a WWII street party celebrating VE day for Year 6 - the children enjoyed dancing; eating 1940s party food and now have a greater understanding of the events during World War II. On the Tuesday, Yr 6 children were ‘evacuees’ for the day, role playing experiences such as air raids, rationing and childhood life during wartime.
Year 3 enjoyed going back in time to the Stone Age at Butser Farm. They learned how to wattle, make copper jewellery and create clay pots. Behaviour was excellent and they loved showing all the facts they have learned during the IPC topic Scavengers to Settlers.
