Judo is a modern Olympic sport and self-defence system derived from the ancient art of ju-jitsu. It is very popular as a physical education and general fitness training method. Judo is a fun ‘sport for all’ and can be enjoyed for personal pleasure and fun, or as a contest sport. Either way it is almost unique in providing a wide range of benefits which include self-discipline, skill in co-ordination and a great way to build self-confidence. Students are taught standing and ground techniques and can progress through a grading syllabus which takes place throughout the year with a coloured belt system.
The Judo Club offers professional coaching by Alex Hutton who is an active Black Belt. His main role is to provide weekly judo teaching for children in years 1-6 .
If you would like your child to attend or come along for a taster session, please contact the school office or Alex to arrange this.
